What do our host families say?

The host family Marianne Philipoom:

I am Marianne, 66 years young. At the end of December 2019 we had to put our border Dipper to sleep. I have another dog Yago who will be 14 in May and comes from Spain. I didn't want another dog but I love animals so I thought I would become a host family for dogs from abroad so I googled and then I saw Puppy Rescue Team.

The host family Anita van Keulen:

Let me introduce myself: my name is Anita and I first heard of the puppy rescue foundation through our daughter, who adopted a puppy in 2020.

Last year I saw a nice litter on the site and I reserved a puppy (chelsey).

1 day before the dogs were transported, I received a call from the foundation that unfortunately my puppy had died.

Since our daughter is a host family for the puppy rescue team foundation, I heard that Chelsey's little sister had been canceled because she was small and weak and was a problem during the trip to the Netherlands.

The dogs arrived in the Netherlands on May 1, 2021 and Chiara went with them to the shelter. We thought how wonderful it is to save the sister.

We contacted the foundation the next day, because we wanted to adopt her.

The puppy rescue team first had a vet come to the shelter, she was given special chunks and recovery food to gain strength, Chiara did well on that.

I was able to pick her up on May 5, she was such a happy puppy and immediately felt at home with us.

Two days later I had an appointment with our own vet and it turned out that Chiara had parasites in her intestines, with some treatments and continuing with the nutrition she was already receiving and a lot of love and care, Chiara grew into a healthy, shiny, beautiful, sweet, grateful dog!

Very happy that I chose her.

On June 25, 2022, a puppy was canceled for adoption and came to our shelter to wait for a warm basket here in the Netherlands.

Because the click between Chiara and Sabbia is so great, we decided to adopt her too.

I can only say: super grateful and sweet dogs!

Happy with the puppy rescue team foundation!

The host family Diana Hazelaar:

I knew Carla before she started the foundation because we often picked up dogs together in Bruchem. When she started the foundation, I certainly took care of a lot of puppies in the beginning. Which is great fun to do even though it is a lot of work. We also brought the senior dog Ozzy to the Netherlands together. In co-parenting :) Ozzy lived with us and was the mascot of Stg for years. Puppy Rescue Team. We thought we could give him another good year, but he surprised us all and had 4 more great years.

Nowadays I help the foundation when a puppy comes that is a bit anxious and I help with all kinds of assistance.

I also have rescue dogs from Greece and one from Portugal and I still take in adult dogs from another foundation. However, the dog from Portugal is so scared that she cannot be rehomed and we have decided that Farita can grow old here because she feels safe with us and she can be here as she is.
